This event is a Black History Month 2021 Poetry reading from “Nuggets From The Night: An Anthology of Poetic Expressions.” I will be reading the entire poem: “A Panegyric.”  Join us on Sunday at 5pm on Zoom for this reading and discussion as we celebrate Black History Month in 2021 after the past 4 years. Below is the Zoom information.

“A Panegyric”

“A Panegyric” is a poem of over 20 verses in “Nuggets From The Night.” It is a poetic interpretation of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, the Tran Angular Slave Trade, the Middle Passage, and the Auction blocks of slavery. “A Panegyric” is a poem that interprets the pain and angst of the Pre-Emancipation and Post-Emancipation slave experiences including, Lynching and the Black Codes to the contemporary phenomenon of Mass Black Incarceration in the United States. It also captures the roles of Religion, the Enlightenment, and the participation of major nation states of the West informed by economic and race-based interests in poetic expressions.
